Harm Reduction Workshop – Three Part Webinar Series

Only 1 in 10 individuals seek treatment for a substance use disorder. Join for a three-session webinar to learn more about harm reduction and how to optimize it in various settings. During this engaging and experiential convening, experts in the field will review California’s Standing Order and Good Samaritan laws, how naloxone can reverse an overdose plus additional action steps to save a life. Other topics include information about the risks of fentanyl, fentanyl strips and a review of California’s Naloxone Distribution Program.

Dates: October 4, October 6 & October 7

Time:  10am-11 am PST

Part I. Overdose Prevention Training (10/4)
-Explain what is meant by Harm Reduction
-Describe the California Standing Order and the Laws that protect overdose responders
-Describe the mechanism of action of naloxone and how individuals can access naloxone in California
-Summarize the action steps to reverse an overdose
-List at least three factors that contribute to the risks of overdose from Fentanyl and other synthetic opioids
-List three harm reduction strategies for preventing opioid-related overdose
