Let’s Talk Community Discussion: Harm Reduction

Join us for the final conversation in the Let’s Talk Community Discussion series for
2021-22 where we discuss Harm Reduction.

Jaclynn Davis, who authored the Let’s Talk booklets, will give an overview of harm
reduction and how it applies across age groups. Jackie received her Masters in Public
Health and Social Work – she focuses on adolescent health and youth development
through her work with local school districts and teaching at Dominican University.

Rusty Handlin is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a practice in Marin.
He works with parents and families to set reasonable agreements regarding
homework, curfew, substance use, social interaction, and family rituals. He will
provide practical tools for parents to communicate with their children about
substances.

Talia Harter is a student at San Rafael High School. She has been working with
Youth Transforming Justice as a Peer Solutions volunteer or 3 years and is a member
of the Youth Action Team for the County Suicide Prevention Collaborative, as well as
Marin 9 to 25. Talia is an experienced Trauma-Informed Restorative Practices Trainer
and has completed the 6-hour family session of the Substance Safety Skills Harm
Reduction. There will be simultaneous live Spanish interpretation on zoom.
